How we work
From the first call to the one-year check
Eight steps, in order. Nothing gets dug before the contract is signed and the locates are back, and nothing gets handed over without a walkthrough.

The first call
Day 1You tell us the street, the yard and what is wrong with it. A photo helps. We tell you roughly what kind of job it is and whether we can take it this season.
Site visit and measure
At a time that suits youDaniel comes to the house, measures the yard, shoots the grade from the foundation out, checks the trees against your town's bylaw and looks at where the water goes.
Design and drawing
After the visitA measured drawing with levels, materials and planting, and a written quote priced line by line, base depth included. For a full backyard, the design fee is credited to the build.
Written contract and deposit
When you are readyOntario requires a written contract for home renovation work over $50, and the final price cannot exceed the estimate by more than 10 percent without a signed change. If you sign at home, you have a 10-day cooling-off period. Ministry guidance recommends deposits of no more than 10 percent of the total, and we follow it.
The locate
5 business days before the digWe request the Ontario Dig Authority locate, which is free and required before any dig. Private lines such as irrigation, pool wiring or a barbecue gas line need a private locate, which we book too.
The build
Start week set in the contractDrainage, base, stone, walls, planting, sod and lights, in that order, with Daniel on site daily. A residential paver job runs several days to roughly two weeks; a full backyard takes longer.
The walkthrough
The last day of the buildWe walk the finished yard with you, test the lights after dark, hand over the watering plan and the warranty in writing, and take final payment.
The one-year check
About a year after the walkthroughWe come back, look at every joint and every plant, and replace anything that failed in the first year, once.
Step one is a phone call
Call 905-555-0162 or write to hello@hollowmere.example with the street and a photo. We will tell you what we see before we come out.
