Rift-cut white oakVertical grain, matched across every door and drawer front so the island reads as one piece of wood.
Matte black quartzA 30 mm top with a 40 mm overhang on the seating side, mitred so the edge shows no seam.
Brass, solidPulls cast in solid brass and left unlacquered, so they wear in rather than wear out.
A finished backPanelled the same as the front. Nothing on this island is a filler piece.

How a kitchen happens

Twelve to sixteen weeks from the first visit to the last hinge, and you know the date before you sign.

  1. Design visit

    We measure, we listen, we look at how you actually cook. Two hours, no charge.

  2. Drawings and a price

    Elevations, a 3D view, samples of the wood and the top, and one number that includes installation.

  3. The shop

    Panels cut on the CNC, doors and drawers built by hand, finished in our own spray booth.

  4. Installation

    Our crew, not a subcontractor. Three to five days, and we clean up.

Materials we stand behind

We choose from a short list because we know how each one ages. Anything outside it, we will tell you what to expect.

  • White oak, rift-cutStraight grain, stable, takes a natural finish beautifully.
  • WalnutWarmer and darker; lightens slightly in sun over the first year.
  • Painted mapleFor a painted kitchen, the only wood we will paint.
  • Quartz topsNon-porous and consistent. We fabricate through one supplier we have used for eleven years.
  • Blum hardwareSoft-close hinges and drawer runners, guaranteed for the life of the kitchen.
  • Solid brass or matte black pullsUnlacquered brass wears in; black powder-coat stays black.
